Scottish Spotlight: Lovely Stuff from a Lovely Pigeon

After Katey’s shout out to the delectable trinkety wares from the local peeps over at Silk Purse Sow’s Ear, I was inspired to go hunting for more pretty bits and pieces from these fair/windy/rainy/snowy/hot-for-that-one-weekend-in-May shores o’ Scotland. Cue – or maybe that should be coo - the fluttering of colourful wings from Lovely Pigeon, the, well, very lovely studio of Kirsty Thomas.

I always considered pigeons rather pesky and a bit rubbish. Not this one though. Think pops of colour, pattern, geometry and shape, typography and one very amiable-lookin’ pigeon dude, wrapped up in a bow and adorned with a very reasonable price sticker, and you’ve got Lovely Pigeon in an eggshell.

The range, which wings its way from Cellardyke in the East of Scotland, includes stationary, jewellery and prints with a healthy sprinkling of well-priced vintage. I'm a sucker for all of the above, so here are a few of my favourites from the altogether splendid collection.

It's Stationary Week! Pigeons might struggle with such goodies given their lack of opposing thumbs (apart from maybe the Disney ones who are really quite bright), so let's celebrate for them:

Lovely prints to brighten up your nest. I'll take all three please.

I have to admit defeat here - I can think of no pigeon pun here. Let's all breathe a sigh of relief and just sit back, admire, and click "add to basket".

Triangle Necklace in Yellow, £14
Feather Necklace in Pink and Red, £12
Pinstripe Triangle Earrings, £5
Pink Semi-Circle Pin Badge, £3
Blue Hexagon Necklace, £18

You can buy all of these and more dreamy pigeony goodness online at Kirsty's shop, or pigeon-savvy Edinburghers can pick pieces from the collection over at Hannah Zakari on Candlemaker Row.
